If Spirit is the Great Ocean, Soul represents the rivers that spring forth from that Great Ocean. Soul can be understood as the individualized expression of Spirit – or Spirit made conscious of itself. We all have a soul, but often we are unable to access our souls due to trauma, social conditioning and beliefs. When we are in touch with our souls, we can live a life of true purpose, love, joy and peace. This is why the practice of soulwork is so important: it helps us to reconnect with our souls again.
