Great video, thanks for making it! Ive always known this and now, living in a small forest, I have all these things every day and am really grateful for this. My landlady shares the same idea and lets the fallen trees just lie there and rot. That is, she did so far. This year however, she had the forest harvested. I was really upset and sad. Such a heartbreaking sight to see all the heavy machinery plowing noisily through the forest to yield enough trees to gain a profit! All the distubance for the game and birds, the soil, the trees itself, the whole environment! A trees life is normally very long, depending on the species, but 50 to hundred years at last, concerning fruit trees. I’ve seen 1000yr old oaks, and within their life span, trees are perfect perpetuum mobiles, living on their own foliage decomposed by fungi, insects and so on, all the flora and fauna we call “destruents”. They nourish themselves, they need nothing else. Meanwhile we know trees communicate through their roots, by chemical substances.
