The King and Queen of all quizzes!
What do you get when you merge Japanese psychology, the Rorschach inkblot test, a sprinkle of Jungian psychology, and the Tarot all together? Well … you’ll find out! (But I can guarantee that it’s probably one of the weirdest tests you’ll ever take.)
What is the Subconscious Mind?
Your subconscious mind can be compared to an inner basement in which all of the material not currently inhabiting your conscious awareness is stored.
Every memory, skill, experience, feeling, thought, and forgotten or subliminal piece of information is housed in your subconscious mind. It is this powerful part of your brain that carries out actions on autopilot, delivers intuitive and instinctual information, and predetermines how you will act in any given situation.
Your subconscious mind is also where unresolved or suppressed feelings, desires, and ideas dwell, and is therefore where your shadow (or the rejected parts of yourself) can lurk. For this reason, shadow work is one of the most powerful ways of exploring your subconscious mind and freeing it of any weight it may be carrying.
You can see our popular and highly rated Shadow Work Journal for a deep guided way to explore this hidden part of you.
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind for most people is a total mystery. Yet science has proven that a large percentage of our feelings, thoughts, and major life decisions are based on the impulses arising from this strange realm.
Your subconscious mind influences everything from the partner you choose, to the jobs you take on, personas you adopt, addictions you develop, and aspirations you have in life. The craziest thing is that often we aren’t even aware of the impact that our subconscious mind has on us.
As I pointed out above, there is also another darker side to the subconscious mind: it is the place where we often hide or suppress the emotions that we don’t want to face. Mind you, not everything buried in the subconscious mind is negative – there can be brilliantly creative and joyful elements within it as well – but some of what the subconscious contains can feel quite strange or confronting.
In this test, you’re presented with the possibility to learn either positive or negative qualities about yourself, and receiving either is neither right nor wrong, it just is.
Subconscious Mind Test

After receiving your answer in this test, please reflect on any reactions you might have. Do you feel shocked, angry or defensive? If so, consider that these reactions might be defense mechanisms.
Defense mechanisms are like inner walls that immediately go up whenever we touch on an inconvenient (or painful) truth. Again, you can check out our Shadow Work Journal or even our Shadow & Light membership for more ongoing guidance.
Also, don’t take the answer you receive as a certainty. See it instead as a possibility. As with any quiz, accuracy can’t be 100% guaranteed (but we’ve tried our best!).
So have fun with this subconscious mind test, and don’t forget to share your results (if you’re so inclined)!
Oh yes:
P.S. Why is the Tarot included in this test? Most people have false assumptions about the tarot. The dominant belief is that the tarot is some kind of hocus-pocus fortune telling gimmick. This is far from the truth. Yes, the tarot can be used by modern bejeweled “gypsy fortune tellers” to make grandiose predictions. But most genuine tarot readers in this day and age believe that no path is set in stone. We are in charge of our destiny. The Tarot is a powerful psychological tool that reveals your unconscious desires, needs, thoughts, gifts, and aspirations. In short, the Tarot is a powerful tool for exploring your unconscious mind. The deck used in this test is one that I personally use and recommend called The Smith-Waite Tarot Centennial Edition Deck.
We’ve also created questions inspired from the book ‘Kokology’ created by University professors Isamu Saito and Tadahiko Nagao.
On to the test!

My childhood was a minefield. My parents hated each other my father tried to be a good father but my mothers anger and resentment to everything made him so miserable. my mother was from Wales and thought that Americans were spoiled and stupid. I am an only child and have never felt that I belonged. The only people that I was able to relate to were rebels, bikers and well criminals.
Desire: the desire to want what I can’t have do to the many things taken from me from the time I was born. The desire to be someone other than what my mother and sisters are. The desire to have them know how lovely like could be without desiring someone else’s dreams. The desire to be me without shame or fame, allowing me to just be me.
I got love, and it makes sense. When I am not in my right mind(either not sober or coming down from getting my wisdom teeth removed), I lose most of my anxiety and become very cheerful. I always tell people how much I appreciate them and feel lots of gratitude and joy. I’ve been working on self love lately and made real progress this past winter(it was accidental shadow work lol). I feel like I can look at myself better and face my shadow in a way I couldn’t before. While I haven’t meditated much and probably need to do it more, I feel like I have made progress in my spiritual journey. I would like to try dream work sometime this summer when I’m done with my bachlors degree since I would like to able to lucid dream and connect with my higher self through my dreams as well.
P.S. I’ve been looking through this website and it really spoke to me. This is the first comment I’ve left though.
Intriguing!! Fear. I instantly wanted to do it again, but without the total number of outcomes. That would be fruitless. I had two different answers for both questions two and five. Multiple for question six.
I’d like to know which questions are based around core beliefs and which are for expressions. Also, all different outcomes with the meanings. I would come back, if I get the info, and run it to see what/if the outcome changes. I would submerge into this deeply!!
My brother recently moved in with me and he has pretty major mental health issues. Getting him help has been hard. Living with him is unbearable at times. I’ve been on my spiritual path for months now and have learned so much. I was spiritual b4.. just not like this
I’m wanting to do some reprogramming of my subconscious mind. Using affirmation techniques while going into theta. Just need to figure out what all I need to work on and what to leave alone. Decalcuify my third eye and start manifesting my best future♾️Hope to hear back!!
Thank you
Aletheia Luna, and your team!!
I got Love…
I was surprised at first, that was not what I expected at all. After reading what it meant though, I have to say I was surprised again! I could hardly believe how accurate it was on so many levels. It’s given me a new perspective on this area and some great questions to ponder. Loved the test too! Thank you so much for all you do ❤️
Isolation -The answers you gave in this test indicate that you likely carry a deep sense of loneliness. You likely feel like an alien on earth and a stranger in a strange land. You crave, deep down, for a sense of camaraderie, a sense of soulful friendship or soulmate love that will remove this sense of isolation you feel.
This is spot on. I have issues being vulnerable and while I am an HSP and empath, I have been struggling not only connecting with others but also with myself. Working with a spiritual psychologist after years of being in traditional therapy and its been theraputic and healing.
Love
Nothing
Great platform for self discovery
What if there’s not a safe environment to share it? I have tried talking to many people and they just tell me to get over it.
