Are you a highly sensitive person (HSP)? If you’re an HSP, you have a form of neurodivergence that causes you to experience sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations in an intense way.
You’ll also be highly attuned to the emotional energy of others, making you an empath who can often experience other’s feelings as your own.
You might be called “hypersensitive,” “touchy,” “thinned-skin,” “melodramatic,” and other labels by those who don’t understand your sensitivity.
As a result, you may feel different, weird, like something is “wrong” with you, or perhaps even broken, and this can cause you to feel isolated from others because they can’t relate to your way of perceiving and experiencing life.
Highly sensitive people often struggle with processing all of the sensory input they experience each day and may experience more burnout, anxiety, and depression than others.
However, at the same time, the intensity of an HSP’s neurodivergence means that they are more prone to having experiences of ecstasy, deep connection with life, and even spiritual states of awareness (such as spontaneous trance states or kundalini awakenings).
In other words, being an empathic HSP can be both a blessing and a curse!

I am curious as to the correlation between HSP and INFP also ADHD. Is anyone aware or has any information about it?.
i think the test changed ? the last test i got a whopping 90; this one 45. but it kinda makes sense cuz im highly sensitive but i can be insensitive and stoic – a survival mechanism from living in a dysfunctional family😬
I also wanna say that being diagnosed as HSP is actually supposed to be a normal thing.
Before I got into the metaphysical community, I always assume that how I was emotionally was the norm. And then the metaphysical community painted the picture for me that being HSP was something Fringe or special.
But to this day I still hold that it is the norm. I mean how can you not be?.
Anybody who is not somewhat sensitive and emotional is the abnormal, there’s something seriously wrong there, and is a sure sign of dysfunction.
According to the test, I am an HSP. I have wondered if that was the case for quite some time as I tend to feel very deeply and spend much time reflecting and philosophising. I also empathise A LOT – I hate to see suffering of any kind – which made me a good nurse. I appreciate the beauty of life, and when I am around nature on a warm sunny day, it is almost like I am in Heaven. Such are the good vibes and positive energy I feel. I would say that I am a religious person (as I believe in God), but I mostly keep it to myself. I do not do churches or religious gatherings because I doubt the sincerity of organised religions. I practice my faith in private. Even though I am a sensitive person, I have gained a strong will over the years and thick skin, which are qualities I’ve purposely sought to acquire. I think they are a necessity for an HSP as a coping mechanism. I hope the other HSPs can find a way to channel all the vibes and energy they feel into something positive and not let things overwhelm them.… Read more »
So, yeah, I got Highly Sensitive Pri..Person. I decided not to stick my finger in it any further. If you get my meaning. I went to the DOES website and read a bit more about the subject. It was quite fascinating. One thing that crossed my mind as I was reading it was, why didn’t they monitor the heart and sacral area while scanning the brain. What, brought it to mind was when they were talking about showing pictures of familiar faces in happy, sad, etc. expressions and seeing what parts of the brain were activated. Well as the HSP that I am, when they said the unhappy face, I immediately felt unhappy, but I felt it all the way through my heart into my gut. Because I thought of a sight of a loved oned who was unhappy. After all that’s the way we work. Just realized that you can control what you let in. I can tell you how I did it, or write a book. Or you can just come to this beautiful website Lonerwolf.com. and check out there way of doing things. I think they are doing great work. And no they do not, nor have… Read more »
I really did thoroughly enjoy doing the HSP test. Everything matched up perfectly well in relation to how I think about a lot of things. It was totally spot on!!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to find out a little bit more about my true personality. I have been absolutely enlightened! I am also very happy to know that I am far from being alone in this big, big world.
I look very much forward to doing another one of your tests at some point and also receiving more of your fantastic emails. Thank you again!!
This topic is often confusing to me. Psychics tell me that I’m in a sensitive empath, yet I’ve always seen myself as a tough guy. I tend to associate such “sensitivity” things as being wussy.
But as an indigo child I guess i AM/can be both.
Another fantastic profession for HSPs: dog trainer or dog behaviourist (or horses, etc). You will be far better equipped to feel the dogs emotions as well as your clients’. This will help you to teach them to understand each other and meet in the middle for a more peaceful relationship.
Solid emotional boundaries are essential or you’ll get overwhelmed and burnt out.
Thanks for another cool test! I had an inkling before that I’m HSP, plus that I sense both energies, have heightened senses plus my love for both arts, creativity, nature and everything beautiful.
Also, the world can be overwhielming but so fantasticly alive and magical at the same time!
