In the deep, dark, depths of your psyche, what are you terrified of the most?
Almost everyone is scared of something (and if you believe you aren’t, please click off this page right now). Fears are normal, and having them is part of being human.
Your biggest fear is the thing in life you are the most terrified about, and likely possess phobias about or have nightmares concerning.
This test is designed partly as a fun form of self-insight, but also as a way to gain clarity. The more knowledge you have about yourself the better, right? :) You might carry uninvestigated assumptions about what your biggest fear is, and discover something quite different in this test. The only way you can find out is by taking it!
The five different fear profiles featured in this test were classified by Dr. Karl Albrecht. As Albrecht wisely noted:
When we let go of our notion of fear as the welling up of evil forces within us … and begin to see fear and its companion emotions as basically information, we can think about them consciously. And the more clearly and calmly we can articulate the origins of the fear, the less our fears will frighten us and control us.
I also love this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, which I hope inspires you as well:
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.
So what is your biggest fear? Take this quick test and if you dare, post your answer in the comments!
What did you get?

Well I got dying and I sometimes overthink it but would not think of it as a fear since I take it as a way of life not a tragic Kev this just an event of life and I know 8 will be in a good place or at least I hope I will be once I have lef5 the earth
I got ” Loss of autonomy with these details :” .Your biggest fear revolves around losing a sense of personal freedom. Deep down, you are terrified of feeling helpless, powerless, and incapable of exercising your free will. Fearing the loss of autonomy may manifest as physical phobias or emotional aversion. For example, you may fear being physically smothered, trapped, paralyzed, confined, or imprisoned. On the other hand, you may fear commitment in relationships or too many responsibilities that make you feel trapped. Triggers for you may include aging, debilitating illness, threat of poverty, marriage, having children, or anything that may equal loss of personal freedom.” it is partly correct inasmuch as I m keen to remain as able, independent and free till the day i pass away . I never thought having kids was a loss of autonomy as it was a choice from my part and i thoroughly enjoyed my experience ( 35 years on). however i would indeed be utterly distraught if my mind went quirky so much so as to be obliged to become dependent in one way or another. Having gone though the experience of witnessing my parents going through illness and having had to rely… Read more »
The test was correct about most but not the weak self esteem yes I dont like it when friends betray me or leave my life I dont like being alone but the self esteem part was wrong
Ego-death. This surprises me since I didn’t think this was a particular issue after receiving your mailings for a number of years. At least I know now what to work on with your help though it’s going to take longer than I thought.
Thank you! it was spot on.
I got Fear of Physical Harm. which I do completely agree with, I came from a past abusive relationship and have worked hard on myself and creating personal boundaries and I dont want to lose all of what I worked so hard.
I got “Fear of Separation”, which is 100% true! The entire description is true. I’ve been a codependent people pleaser my whole life (was raised in this dynamic), so my job now is to learn to take responsibility for myself before trying to please others. I once heard a very useful saying: “You must first put on your oxygen mask before trying to put one on someone else”.
Many thanks, Luna and Sol for sharing your wisdom and knowledge.
This website is EXACTLY what I need to heal and get stronger, and become more genuinely “me”!
I got fear of dying but I’m not I am more scared of dying without proving something or dying without the rest of me. ex: I’ve lost a leg and I can’t walk or run or anything and I die not being with my leg
The result just comes from the last question
I got fear if separation ad well, so this test must not be that accurate. I more feel like I want to separate myself from others to avoid hurting them.
